My print quality is poor and I think my print heads may be clogged. How do I clean the print heads?

Use print head cleaning procedure to get best quality print outs
Add caption

Poor quality prints are a common occurrence and can have several possible causes. Sometimes we need to eliminate the probable causes one at a time before going to the expense of replacing an ink cartridge. The first step is to perform a test print out to see exactly where the problem is. Is the issue the ink coverage or is it in the alignment of the print? The alignment problem is easily noticeable as the text may be slanted or distorted but other print clearly enough. The other problem that you can encounter is the obvious poor quality of the print with parts missing or gaps appearing in the text or image.

Printing a test print will reveal where the problem is. To print a test page go to file print > properties > maintenance > print head alignment. You will need to load several sheets of paper in the printer as you will more than likely be printing out several test pages. The alignment test page will show if the letters are slanted and ask you to choose the best settings from the display in an effort to reset the alignment. It’s quite rare for the alignment to require must adjustment but it does happen from time to time. If the alignment is not the issue then it’s time to print out a text page to check the print quality.

To print this test page go to file print > properties > maintenance > nozzle check. This will print four lines of each colour and display any broken lines or gaps in the printing. If the four lines are not completely solid, it will be necessary to perform a head cleaning procedure in an effort to clear any blockages either in the print head or ink cartridges. To perform this the head cleaning procedure go to file print > properties > maintenance > head cleaning. After each head cleaning procedure it is necessary to print a test page and you will be prompted to do this by the cleaning programme.

If the print out is not to the standard required it may be necessary to perform this procedure several times. This of course will affect the life of the ink cartridge as quite a lot of ink is dispensed during the head cleaning as it is forced through the print head as it tries to clear any blockage. If none of the above make much difference to the print quality it is worth trying a new cartridge in case one of the cartridge is faulty – try replacing the black or one of the colour inks that show up particularly bad on the test page print out. In some cases the print head may be worn and require replacement, in this case it may be more economical to replace the printer depending on the value of the current printer.

I have recently bought a HP printer and need to find best value compatible HP 364 ink cartridges in Cork

Get great savings on buying compatible HP364 ink cartridges in Cork

HP recently brought out a great range of printers that use low cost compatible HP 364 ink. The range of printers extends to over 50 models and these cartridges are easily obtained in any good ink shop in Cork. Because the more recent of these printers contain software that will enable the printer to read only the newest of the HP ink cartridges it’s best to make sure the cartridges you buy are second generation. It’s rumoured that HP changed the software in some of its newer printers in an attempt to prevent the use of the compatible range of printer ink in Cork (well lets face it, not just Cork, UK and Ireland in general). The older ink cartridges that were designed for the early printer models will not work the newer printer models. If you seek advice from your local ink shop in Cork or contact your online supplier they will advise if the cartridges they are selling are first or second generation and if they will work with your printer.

Unusually for HP, the ink cartridges come in four colours instead of two. The black, cyan, magenta and yellow ink cartridges are all replaceable individually and this will certainly prove more cost effective. The HP364 cartridges also come in and XL version that are high capacity with over 750 pages for the colour as opposed to the 300 pages available form the standard cartridge. There are many good options for the compatible version of these HP cartridges will great online bundle deals offering free cartridges and low cost next day delivery. Original brand printer ink in Cork has become very expensive and many people are making the switch to the compatible version in an effort to make some savings on their printing. These savings apply to printers in the home and in the office and are available in laser toner as well as inkjet cartridges.

Another feature of the HP 364 cartridge is that it carries no print head. The print head is located in the printer and this in effect means the cost of the cartridge is drastically reduced and easier to replicate as a compatible. The majority of the HP printers have the print head located in the cartridge which means every time you change the cartridge print head. While this may give superior print quality it also makes the cost of the cartridge expensive. HP has made a step in the right direction offering the HP364 ink cartridge and any ink shop in Cork that stocks the compatible version of the cartridge is surely on to a winner.

My black ink cartridge will not print but my colour ink cartridge is printing perfectly

Useful instructions if your printer fails to print with black ink cartridges
If your printer will not print black on your document then there are a couple of possible issues that might need resolving. First of all has the printer given a warning about low ink or has the ink actually run out and need replacing? If so, then replace the ink cartridge as directed. It’s a myth that you don't need black ink to print a colour image or indeed that you can print black text without the printer requiring a colour cartridge. The majority of printers require both the black and colour ink cartridges to be recognised as having ink and will not operate if one of the colours is out of ink.

If you have just installed your ink cartridges correctly and there are no error messages relating to the cartridges, but the black ink is still not showing when you print a document then the issue may be a blocked print head. The first step in checking this out is to go to the printer maintenance facility and run a test print to see if there is a trace of black printing at all. You can access this procedure in a couple of ways, either go to your printer icon at the bottom of your screen and select printer utility > maintenance > clean heads or go to file print and select printer utility > maintenance > clean heads. Performing a head cleaning procedure will force ink from the ink cartridge through the print head and clear any blockage that may be preventing the printing of the document. It’s important to remember that each time you perform a head cleaning procedure you print a test page to monitor the improvement of the print quality. The printer is clever enough to know that if you decide to perform another head cleaning procedure after printing a test page that the blockage was not cleared and will force a greater amount of ink through in a further attempt to clear the blockage. Although you may have no real option but to see it through, the downside of performing several head cleaning procedures is that it uses a lot of ink and will drain the ink cartridge quite fast.

The head cleaning will usually clear up the issue of the black cartridge not printing but if it’s still the case that the printer will not print black or the quality will not improve it’s possible that the print heads in the printer are the issue. Depending on the original cost of the printer it may be more economical to replace the printer than try to have the print head replaced.

Where is the best place to buy Canon replacement printer ink in Dublin?

Buying replacement Canon ink cartridges in Dublin can be an unenviable task especially if it means jumping in your car and trying to get across the city to pick some ink cartridges. There are many local retailers who sell printer cartridges in Dublin but the best deals surely must be those online. There are many online suppliers who offer low cost next day delivery of ink cartridges. These suppliers mostly concentrate on the supply of compatible ink cartridges for all the major brands such as Canon, Epson, Samsung and Brother. All other brands are available but the best deals will usually be found among these more popular brands.

Buy Canon replacement Ink Cartridges online with great deals and save your money

Canon printers come in different shapes and sizes with some printers using two ink cartridges, a black and tri-colour and some will use up to six individual colours. The obvious advantage of using the four or six individual cartridges is that the colours can be replaced as they run out and this can be more cost effective in the long run. Buying the original brand ink in Dublin can be very expensive and the cheaper compatible alternative is becoming more and more popular.

From a time saving point of view ordering online is the smarter way to order. The great deals for compatible ink cartridges online coupled with low cost delivery to Dublin makes sense for those considering making the switch to non-original cartridges. Replacement Canon cartridges come in two types; compatible or remanufactured. The compatible ink cartridges are new cartridges manufactured to act as a clone or replacement of the original cartridge. These are manufactured for those printers that contain the print head in the printer and not the cartridge and are generally cheaper than the remanufactured cartridges.

The remanufactured ink cartridges have the print head integrated into the cartridge. In effect, with this cartridge every time you change the cartridge you are changing the print head. This is claimed to give better printing results but the cartridges are much more expensive than their compatible counterparts. Either way, if you opt for buying compatible or remanufactured printer ink in Dublin the savings you make going forward will have a serious effect on your spending on printing.

Can I use compatible ink cartridges with my new Epson Expression printer?

Save Money by using Compatible Ink Cartridges for New Epson Expression Printer
Every new printer comes with a set of cartridges to get the printer started, but will usually only last for a few pages of print. Hopefully you will have done your research before actually buying the printer to ensure that it will work with a compatible ink cartridge that is sure to be a fraction of the cost of an original brand. Epson printers in general accept compatible ink without any issues. The new range of Epson Expression printers are no exception and savings of up to 70% can be made against the original brand price.

Of course it's always good housekeeping to check for the cost of the ink cartridge that your printer will use before you buy the actual printer. Also, giving a quick call to a reputable ink supplier will alert you to any issues there might be with using compatibles. This may be an issue if you were considering purchasing a HP printer but as a rule, the Epson range gives little or no bother in this respect.

The Epson Expression range of printers use four colour ink cartridges black, cyan, magenta and yellow. The advantage of running a printer with four individual ink cartridges is that you can replace one colour at a time when they run out. If you choose to buy a two cartridge printer, for example a Canon printer that uses one black and one tri-colour ink cartridge, then replacing the colour can be expensive as once it runs low on one colour the whole cartridge must be replaced. A big advantage using compatible ink is that the cartridges are generally filled to capacity so you will receive more ink in your cartridge than an original brand.

The Epson expression cartridges come in a standard and high capacity version. The high capacity version, also known as the XL, will produce more prints than the standard cartridge and is better value when bought as a compatible. Epson printer's track record overall using compatible ink is very good with few printers rejecting the cartridges. From time to time the printers may display the message 'cartridges cannot be recognised'. If this message appears when you first insert the ink cartridge then it's likely that the cartridge is faulty, you can try removing and reinstalling, if this doesn't work then replace the cartridge. If this message appears during printing then it 's likely that the ink is running low big advantage using compatible ink is that the cartridges are generally filled to capacity or has run out, check the ink levels (some printers will not display the ink volumes on compatible cartridges so this is also an indication that it 's time to replace the cartridge). Overall, the Epson Expression are a great All-in-One printer that works well alongside the compatible Epson ink cartridges.

My printer is broken and I still have Epson ink cartridges, can I use them in another printer?

Use your left Epson Ink Cartridges in another printer when old printer is broken
Many printers eventually fail or come to the end of their life and we are often left with a bundle of ink cartridges we bought and no printer to put them in. The first thing most of us do is to try and find a printer that will accept the same ink cartridge and just buy this replacement. This can prove to be very difficult especially if we have had the printer for several years as the likelihood is that the printer is discontinued. People do not realise however, that printer manufacturers such as Epson make many different printer models that work with the same cartridges. This means that we are not just limited to finding the same printer that has failed on us but there may be several other models still currently on the market.

The way to ascertain the models of the other printers that use the same cartridge is to firstly check the packaging of the ink cartridge to see if it lists the models of printers that the cartridges works with. If it does then they may be up to 10 or 15 models that you can start searching for on Amazon or Ebay. It’s possible of course that these models are also discontinued but there may still be some available for sale privately on these auction websites. In the case of HP, they have an ink cartridge range called the HP364 colours and they work with over 50 different HP printer models. So without initially being discouraged, it’s worth researching to find out if any of these printers are available. If you hit a brick wall with this line of enquiry then the next option is to contact your ink supplier and see if they can offer any advice on where to locate a printer that will work with your cartridges. If this is your original supplier of the cartridges you can no longer use, it’s also worth asking them will they take the unused cartridges back and give you a credit against a future purchase when you obtain your new printer. If you can show that you have bought the cartridges within the last 6 months then the supplier may well decide to take the ink cartridges back if they are still in a saleable condition.

Most good quality compatible ink cartridges have a shelf life of up to 2 years and will work without any problems, this also depends on how the cartridges were stored, but its worth asking you supplier as all they can say is sorry, not on this occasion.

Buying Compatible Ink Cartridges in Dublin is more economical to use than Refilled

Finding somewhere to refill your ink cartridges in Dublin can be a tricky affair as there are a limited number of outlets in the city that provide this service and it’s not possible to refill all types of ink cartridge. First of all we can look at the types of printer ink cartridge in Dublin that can be professionally refilled. These cartridges are the types that the integrated print head or in other words the print head built into the cartridge rather than the printer. Initially these cartridges will be more expensive than their counterparts that have the print head built into the printer. The idea with the ink cartridges and with the print head in the cartridge is that they can be refilled or remanufactured in a factory and be reused.

Find Compatible Ink Cartridges Online in Dublin and Save Your Time and Money
These cartridges will almost be original brand ink cartridges and be expensive when first purchased. These are typically Canon, Lexmark and HP cartridges and the idea being that every time you change cartridge you are getting a new print head so you will receive top quality printing every time. Of course buying printer ink in Dublin for everyday use and not for photo printing means that it’s not necessary to have the highest quality print outs especially for reports or assignments printed a home for example by students.

It’s recommended that a printer cartridges be refilled no more and two or three times and there is also the possibility that the ink volume levels will not show as the ‘chip’ on the cartridge will not register as full. There is also the likelihood that the cartridges will not be recognised by the printer, again because the information on the ‘chip’ is not transferring to the printer. In terms of savings, there is not much difference between refilling a cartridge and buying a compatible ink cartridge. There are certainly more outlets for compatible and remanufactured printer cartridges in Dublin than there are for refilling.

Buying printer ink in Dublin can be done online with many suppliers offering low cost next day delivery at very competitive prices. Many online suppliers offer free ink cartridges as part of their bundle deals and even throw in a free gift as an added incentive to buy. The other factor to consider when considering cartridge refill in Dublin is the time it takes to get across the busy city for the sake of refilling an ink cartridge. Is it really worth the journey when you can order online and receive a compatible ink cartridge the following day? The same rules apply to laser toner cartridges - some are also refillable but come at the same cost as compatibles and if you are using a set of four colours, the savings with buying a full set of colours will far outweigh the journey across Dublin to fill one cartridge.

Follow Useful Suggestion When Advent Ink Cartridges Not Recognized By Printer

Advent ink cartridges now come in two editions, the early edition that work with early Advent printer models such as AW10 and the new generation ink cartridge that facilitates the Advent AWP10 printer. The old generation cartridges will not work with the latest AWP10 printers and the message ‘ink cartridges not recognised’ will appear in the dialogue window. There is not way to get the earlier generation cartridges to work, you must return them to the supplier you bought them from and ask for the newer ink cartridge. It’s worth mentioning the model of the printer to the supplier when you are ordering the cartridge in the first place to avoid any disappointment.

Follow Useful Suggestion When Advent Ink Cartridges Not Recognized By Printer
The good quality compatible second generation ink cartridges will work fine with the Advent printers. These printer is manufactured on behalf of PC World and Currys. It is very similar in its workings to the earlier Kodak models that unfortunately are no longer manufactured. These printer is a good all rounder for general-purpose printing and uses 2 ink cartridges, black and colour. These ink cartridges are not readily available, as compatibles so you might have a bit of searching to do online for them but there are good quality compatibles out there and the savings you make will make the searching worth it.

There are a limited number of Advent printer models as the manufacturers never intended to flood the market with a variety of printers. This means that the new generation black and colour ink cartridges that are available will work with all the printer models. There are good value two packs available on line with even bigger savings offered with four pack bundle deals This would consist of two black and two colour cartridges and keep a home user in ink for some time to come. The best deals for Advent printer ink cartridges are undoubtedly online and with many free gifts also offered by suppliers as an incentive to buy, shopping online for these cartridges can be an enjoyable experience.

If there are any issue with the compatible cartridges then you should contact your supplier but its possible from time to time that the heads on the printer may become clogged and necessitate the need to perform a head cleaning procedure. This can happen to any printer, not just an Advent. This procedure is straight forward and easy to perform. You can access the procedure through your printer utilities (usually located in your printer and fax section) or if you are in Microsoft Word, open a file and simply go to file> print> properties> maintenance> head cleaning. This should sort out any issues such as poor print quality and allow you to print a test page to find out where the issues with your ink are.

Buying compatible ink cartridges in Dublin at low cost is more important than ever

The dramatic turn the Euro has taken in recent times against the UK Pound and the US dollar will surely make a difference in the running costs of any business and household in the Republic of Ireland. Focusing on one of the many elements that will be affected is the cost of printer ink cartridges in Dublin. The running costs of a business such as bars, restaurants or hotels that have daily print requirements can push up the cost of printing if they are currently using a supplier in the UK. The recent fall in the value of the Euro means you will in effect get less ink per cartridge for your Euro and the alarm bells should be ringing for you to shop around!

For any business or busy home user printer ink in Dublin has become an increasing expense in the last few years but with the advent of many online suppliers offering low cost next day delivery to Dublin, thankfully the cost is coming down. Many online suppliers will sell compatible or remanufactured ink cartridges at a fraction of the cost of the original brand offering big savings and in some cases free ink or gifts. Aside from the novelty factor of a free gift, these online suppliers want your repeat business and are willing to reward you for your custom in an effort to get you to buy from them over and over again.

During these austere times buying Irish is the best way to support the economy while still trying to get the best deal available. Many suppliers offer multipack deals that can make the ink cartridges in Dublin for as low as €1 a cartridge plus the standard 23% VAT. This will better even the low cost cartridge refill in Dublin. While the cartridge refill is generally thought to be more eco friendly than buying new cartridges, the simple fact is that you can easily have your non-refilled cartridges recycled by bringing them to your local Dublin City Council amenity site. Recycling your ink and toner cartridges is an important part of our responsibility to our planet and both compatible and refilled cartridges should always be disposed of responsibly. From a financial point of view, keeping ahead of the game by buying your ink cartridges in Dublin in a smarter way can help businesses and households weather the storm until such times as the Euro makes it way back up to where it belongs.

Will there be a noticeable difference in the quality of print if I use compatible rather than original brand ink cartridges?

Choose Compatible Ink Cartridges for Best Printing Results
As more people make the switch to compatible ink cartridges the question arises from those yet to be converted, will the quality of my print suffer? The simple answer is that for everyday general-purpose printing, no. By general purpose printing I mean, reports, letters, accounts, daily print outs such as menus etc, in fact anything that does not involve printing photographic.

Most of us use the printer for projects at home such as our children’s school assignments or projects and the printing of the occasional boarding pass when we are fortunate enough to get away on holiday. Somehow though the ink can still disappear (even though many I the household deny using the printer) and before we know it we are forking out a fortune for replacement ink cartridges. The difference in the cost of the original brand ink cartridge and the compatible version can be as much as 70% – 100%.

The price difference is too great to be ignored and providing the compatible or remanufactured version of the cartridge is of good quality and reliable then there’s no reason not to make the switch. The only difference in quality that independent tests have found between the compatible ink cartridge and original brand is in the life of the colour. To test this theory in detail we would need to make an experiment using a set of compatible and original brand printer inks.

Firstly we would print an image on a high quality glossy photographic paper and then repeat the process only this time with compatible inks in the printer. Initially there may be no noticeable difference in the quality (assuming the printer has been correctly calibrated after inserting both sets of inks), and then we must store the prints from two to five years to see if the difference in quality reveals itself after a period of time. It’s quite likely that the pigments in the ink from the compatible ink cartridges will begin to deteriorate after a period of time whereas the original brand cartridges will not. Considering this is possibly the most likely difference we can experience then I think it’s safe to say we can convert to compatible ink.

As a footnote, it’s worth remembering that the ink within the compatible cartridge does not contain the component that prevents the ink from drying out in the ink tank and may be prone to drying out if not used on a regular basis. The ink on the print head may also dry out but this can be cleared by performing a head cleaning procedure through the PC or on the printer itself, depending on the model.

I need to buy good quality Epson compatible ink cartridges for my printer in Galway

Finding a good quality compatible ink cartridge in Galway at a price that doesn't break the bank is not as difficult as it sounds. Most of Ireland's online ink suppliers will now offer low cost or free next day delivery across Ireland as standard. The original brand Epson printer ink has now priced itself out of the market with a set of four colour cartridges costing as much as €80. People can no longer afford to pay these hiked up prices for printer ink that frankly is now more expensive per milliliter than champagne or Chanel No. 5 perfume.

Buy compatible ink cartridges for your Epson printer and make your printing affordable
The low cost alternative to the original brand ink is the compatible or remanufactured range of inks and toners. Thankfully Epson printers, as a rule, don’t give any bother when accepting the compatibles. These ‘value’ ink cartridges are becoming increasingly more popular with families who have students printing school assignments or indeed small businesses that need to print daily runs of reports etc. The search for cheap ink cartridges in Galway is evident as there are more and more searches on Google as people try to find the best value either locally or on the web.

If an original brand Galway ink cartridge costs €20 then the compatible version of the same cartridge can cost as little as €10 online and that’s a saving of 100% for the customer. Very often the online suppliers will offer free ink or gifts as an incentive for the customer to return and keep the customer’s repeat business. It’s hard for the high street shops to compete with these incentives as their overheads make cutting profit margins nearly impossible. Epson inkjet printers usually take four colour ink cartridges, black, cyan, magenta and yellow. If one of the colours runs out then the printer will not operate without the empty cartridge being replaced. Several people find this frustrating especially if the yellow cartridges runs out and they only wish to print black and white. On a standard Epson printer it’s not possible to select black print only and its also not always known that when the printer prints a black and white image or text, it very often takes a ‘pinch’ of the other colours too to make up the black. It can be a cause of frustration to some people when this happens as they fell they duped into buying the ink when they don’t really need to. Buying compatible printer ink in Galway is the quickest way to save money and make your printing affordable at home or in the office. Make the switch to compatibles by checking out the great online offers, once you switch you may never go back to buying original brand printer ink again.

I need to replace my Epson printer but how do I choose the one that best suits my needs

If the time has finally come for you to replace your Epson printer it can seem a bit of a dilemma deciding what to replace your printer with. If you have been using an Epson inkjet printer and have been reasonably happy with it then it follows that you should stick with Epson? Was the Epson printer economical to run and were the Epson ink cartridges affordable to use? The running cost of the printer should be the first thing to consider when you are thinking of buying a new printer. Most Epson printers in the past will have run perfectly well on compatible ink cartridges with very few refusing to accept the. If you are thinking of changing brand, for example to HP, then do some research to see if the printer will happily accept a compatible or remanufactured ink cartridge.

Choosing an Epson printer that accepts reasonably a priced compatible ink cartridges
It’s very likely that your old Epson printer used the compatibles without any problems and your new Epson should accept them also but it’s worth checking that the latest Epson printers have compatible ink cartridges available for them (in other words, they are not so recent that the compatible version of the cartridge is not yet on the market). If the new Epson printer’s ink cartridge is not yet available it should be on the market within out 3 – 6months but it means in the meantime that you will be paying full price for Epson original brand printer ink.

There are many Epson All-in-One printers currently available that will accept compatibles and will be very economical to run on this basis. The quality of print using compatibles or remanufactured ink is fine for every day use and stands up very well against original brand ink. The only noticeable difference may occur when storing photographic prints that may fade over time but they are fine for everyday general purpose printing at home and in the office. Compatible ink cartridges can offer up to 70% savings when compared to the cost of original brand ink and will make your printing much more affordable.

A good quality Epson printer such as the All-in-One Printer/Copier/Scanner will be sufficient for most home users who regularly print flight boarding passes and for children who need to print their assignments for school. These printers have all the necessary attributes and now come wireless so the printer can be located anywhere in the home without the need for cables. Choosing an Epson printer that accepts reasonably a priced compatible ink cartridge is perhaps, these days, the single most important factor in deciding which printer to buy.

Where can I buy the best value good quality compatible Epson ink cartridges in Cork?

With Epson printers sales are at an all time high it’s estimated that the demand for their ink cartridges has increased almost ten fold since 2008. The low cost budget printers Epson have introduced to the market are in direct competition with other leading brands in an effort to outsell the competition by offering good quality printers at exceptionally low prices. The sale of Epson ink cartridges in Cork has certainly seen growth and while the initial cost of the printer is low the cost of running a printer on original brand cartridges is more of a concern to home and business users. That makes finding a good quality ink shop in Cork all the more important so that the bonus of paying a low amount for the printer won’t be offset immediately with having to pay premium prices for original brand ink.

Check out the list of best value ink cartridges for your Epson printer and save money
A good quality ink shop in Cork can help with the cost by supplying high quality compatible Epson printer ink and in fact the shop does not necessarily have to appear in the high street either. There are many suppliers who offer low cost next day delivery to Cork at prices that cannot be matched on the high street and offer incentives such as free ink or gifts to maintain the customers loyalty. The cost of original brand ink cartridges now makes it unaffordable for many business and home users to print economically and as a direct result of this many are switching to compatible third party manufactured cartridges.

Current Epson all-in-one printers now offer print-copy-scan features and are certainly good value for money if you can use the compatible cartridges with them. A quick call to your online supplier or ink shop in Cork will soon confirm if this is possible and savings of up to 70% will begin almost immediately. The new Epson printer will come with a small amount of ink for setting up purposes only an this will need to be replacing as soon as you begin any serious printing. Rather than discover after you have purchased the printer that the cartridges are very expensive (some compatibles may be more expensive than you think if the printer is part of a new range from Epson), it’s good housekeeping to check with your ink supplier about the running costs of the printer before you buy.

Compatible Ink Cartridges Sales Overtaking Original Brand Cartridges

Sales of compatible and remanufactured ink cartridges are overtaking original brands cartridges in Ireland with more and more brands becoming available through 3rd Party manufacturers. The compatible ink cartridge industry has grown vastly in the last 2 years with sales of compatible ink and toner at an all time high. One reason for this is now the willingness for suppliers to stand over the printer as well as the ink they sell. In short, if the ink or toner causes a problem for your printer some of the more reputable suppliers are guaranteeing the printer as well as the ink. This shows the progress made by the manufacturers of compatible ink cartridges and their obligation to matching the ISO standards of the original brand ink.

Find Best Deals on Compatible Ink Cartridges and save money around 40% - 50%
As well as sales of ink cartridges increasing, the sale of compatible laser toner is also on the increase. More and more businesses are making the switch to compatible or remanufactured toners in an effort to reduce printing costs. An average sized small business will now print their own letterheads, leaflets and labels whereas in the past they would have used the services of a commercial printer. With the low cost compatible toner available, it’s at last within their budget to print their own. There are now savings estimated at around 40% – 50% using third party toners as an alternative to the originals and they will very rarely give any problems. This represents massive savings for any business within any trading year of a small business and should be considered when trying to find ways to reduce overall running costs. Good quality suppliers of ink cartridges will guarantee the printer as well as the toner ink and stand over any repairs that are needed as a direct result of any problems caused by their toners. This is less likely to be a problem with inkjet cartridges as the ink will either work in the printer or it won’t.

The viability of using original brand printer ink cartridges is now becoming unaffordable with rumours of some of the larger original brand suppliers introducing their own version of a compatible cartridge. This is somewhat a contradiction in terms as it will be basically the same cartridge as the original brand cartridge except at a lower cost.

A set of original brand ink cartridges in Galway is likely to cost more than the printer

Great Deals on Home Printers both Locally and Online and Save Money
The cost of a new home printer dropped significantly in 2014 in an effort by printer manufacturers to increase sales and revenue. This clever marketing ploy had people rushing to the big stores or indeed buying online at prices that seem to defy logic. The well-known local retailers were selling printers for as little as €40 for a basic home printer with an all-in-one (printer/copier/scanner) for as little as €60! Wow! You might say, let’s rush out and buy a printer right now and replace the dodgy printer I have or in case I need to replace my printer in the near future as surely these prices will not be repeated. The short answer to this is that the low cost of buying the printer will continue for the short term, at least for printers that are no longer the latest models. What should be concerning us is the cost of the ink cartridges in Galway for the printer we buy.

It’s a fact that some people who have purchased a new printer have gone to their printer ink in Galway and have been shocked to find that the cost of the cartridges is as much or more than they paid for the printer! Is this hard to believe? Well not really considering that the price of original brand printer ink in Galway costs more per millilitre than Chanel No.5 or a good quality champagne. The cost of a set of original brand ink cartridges can cost more than the cost of the printer so it’s imperative that we do our homework before we buy. Contact a local supplier of ink cartridges in Galway and seek their advice on the printer that is on offer at the moment in one of the large retailers. Find out if the cartridges for that particular are available at the moment (if it is a very recent model it may be that the compatible version of the cartridge has not yet been released to market), if they are available ask if there are good savings to be made on it. Your on-line supplier will be a big help to you here as they will want you to become a customer of theirs and will do all they can to assist you.

There are many great deals on printers both locally and on-line so check out 3 or 4 of them before you decide to buy, the ink cartridges will be the single biggest expense after you buy the printer so be smart and do your research before you buy.

Tips to Clean and Handle Ink Cartridges for Best Results

Get tips to clean and handle ink cartridges for best printing results
First of all you need to establish whether or not your printer ink cartridge needs to be cleaned. Run a test print and look for streaks or other indications such as dots that suggest that the ink cartridge needs to be cleaned. If you feel that the ink cartridge needs to be cleaned then select this option from the printer utility on your printer – anyone that is not sure how to perform this function on their specific printer should refer to their user manual. Once the cleaning is complete, print another test page and check the quality. Repeat the procedure until you are satisfied with the result.

How to clean the inkjet printer head

Almost all printers have a built in cleaning function that you can use to clean the printer head. If you are having difficulty with good quality print outs form your inkjet printer the heads may require cleaning. You should check your user manual to find out the exact procedure that you are supposed to use for your inkjet printer. Should that not work, or your inkjet printer does not have this function, then you should buy a substance that is over 90% alcohol and apply it to the printer head.

Inkjet printer frequently drying out

It is good practice to run a print head cleaning every week. When the print head on the printer is dry, replacing the ink cartridges will not do solve the problem. The print head is located in the printer, not the inkjet cartridge. Running a print through the printer on a regular basis will help prevent drying out.

Best way to handle an ink cartridge

Try to avoid touching the ink nozzle with your fingers when handling an ink cartridge. The ink in an opened inkjet cartridge will usually dry out within a couple of days if it is not in the printer. If an opened ink cartridge will not be used for a period of time, it should be wrapped in plastic wrap and placed in a plastic bag and sealed. If the ink nozzle was to become clogged, you can dissolve the dried ink by soaking the ink cartridge in water for a few minutes. To soak the ink cartridge, place it in a foam container and fill the cup with water until the ink cartridge is halfway immersed in water. To dry the ink cartridge, blot it with a soft lint-free cloth. An ink cartridge should be replaced as soon as you notice the ink is getting low, to avoid damaging the print head.
Usual signs that the ink is low include light prints or white streaks. It is best practice to check the ink level before a large print run to ensure that you do not run out of ink. If the ink cartridge is leaking after a refill, do not put it back into your printer. Sometimes an ink cartridge may leak a small amount of ink after a refill, but once the air pressure inside the ink cartridge equalizes it will stop leaking. In the event that the ink cartridge leaks a lot, put the ink cartridge on a folded piece of paper or in a paper cup until the leak stops, then wipe the ink cartridge clean and put it in the printer. The print head should be cleaned before printing if the printer has not been used for a long time.

Compatible Inkjet and Toner Cartridges

A compatible inkjet or toner cartridge is manufactured by a different company than the original. Compatible inkjet cartridges are as reliable as the original and give as good a print quality too. Claim to the inkjet cartridges are remanufactured so that you can replace your inkjet or toner cartridge without needing to buy a branded version. So if your printer is made by Canon, Dell, Lexmark, HP, Epson or Brother, it is possible to use a compatible inkjet or toner cartridge. Possibly the most important thing is that you save a lot of money. This can be up to 50% savings on inkjet or toner cartridges in some cases.

How to print your own low cost personalised 2015 calendar on a home printer?

Printing a calendar on your home printer need not be expensive and has the added bonus of being personalized with images that are special to you and your family. More and more people are printing their own home calendars with family portraits or pictures of their pets as the cost of printing at home has come down with the availability of good quality compatible ink cartridges. The major cost involved before now was the cost of the ink. To run off 13 A4 pages with colour photos on them as well as the calendar was proving expensive. Now that compatible printer ink is widely available the need to pay to have them printed on-line or at a local print shop has declined.

Print personalised 2015 Calendar using compatible ink cartridges on home printer First of all decide the style of the calendar you would like to print. You can Google the different styles of calendar and choose one that suits your needs and importantly, your printer. For example, one of the most popular types is the calendar that fits into a CD case – this enables the calendar to be displayed upright with a simple method of changing the moths of the year. When you have selected a style of calendar, set your document size to match and begin selecting the images and corresponding months and putting together your calendar. When all the information is gathered and ready to print, make sure you have the correct weight of paper (a 90gsm gloss paper would be ideal for most printers – but if in doubt check online the maximum weight of paper your printer will take – this is likely to be 135gsm for a home printer). Next, make sure you have a good quantity of compatible ink cartridges at your disposal with an extra number of black as you are likely to use more black cartridges than any other colour.

Compatible ink cartridges are available for almost all printers now and certainly for all the leading brands. Some of the best value is Epson and these can be up to 70% cheaper than the original Epson brand. Printer manufacturers are adding more and more printers every week but they will all eventually accept the compatible ink making your printing a lot more affordable than ever before. A personalised printed calendar is such a great present for friends and family, why not start an image collection for next years calendar right now and build up the memories to share with friends and family.
