Option number one is to have the cartridges refilled in a high street shop and that's fine for refilling for one or two occasions but beyond that it's unlikely that the cartridge will work and the ink volume will almost certainly not be recognised. The second option is to purchase remanufactured printer ink in Dublin, this is an ink cartridge that was previously used as an original brand cartridge but has been recycled by a third party (not the original brand manufacturer). These cartridges are cleaned, refilled, had their 'chips' reset and tested in the factory. They are then repackaged as new and sold for approximately 30% of the cost of the original brand.
These cartridges are refilled and checked to a high standard and rarely give problems unless it is the recognition of the ink volume. Most of us can live with the ink volume showing either zero or low providing that the cartridge carries on producing prints for us. In Dublin, the price of original brand ink cartridge is the same as anywhere else in Ireland and more and more people are making the switch to compatibles and remanufactured printer ink.
